∼The Middle of the Garden∼

My experiences from walking and talking with Jesus in the middle of life's garden…a blog by Janet Williams

Just because something offends me, it doesn’t mean it offends God.

Just because something doesn’t offend me, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t offend God.

Just because I am a Christian, it doesn’t mean God is like me and it doesn’t necessarily mean that I am like God.

I pray to become more like Jesus. But, Jesus isn’t praying to become more like me.

I seek to have more of Jesus in me as God. I do not seek to have God in me as more of me.

This all has to do with opinions. I hold opinions but God does not.

God holds truth, never opinions. That’s why the Bible tells us that Jesus is “the Way, the Truth and the Life”.

Truth is non-negotiable with God.

God has made NO contract with anyone to accept their opinions as Truth.

We make an alliance with God to come into agreement and accept His Way.

God does not come into agreement with our opinions and accept our way.

If one wants a relationship with God it is all according to His terms.

Thus, as a Christian I should relinquish

all my rights

all my priveledges

all my opinions

all my prejudices

all my alliances

all my own way of thinking

all my own way of reacting

To Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Because, I believe it far more advantageous for me to go through life having more and more of God within me and less and less of me within me.

And this process of relinquishment,

yielding,

deferring,

submitting,

transforming

takes more than a lifetime.

So, please bear with me, if you will.

I am still Jesus’ student.

I know I still have far to go!
